Castronova, associate professor of telecommunications at Indiana University, shares his thoughts with BusinessWeek's Silicon Valley bureau chief, Robert D. Hof about the growth of online games from the No. 1 World of Warcraft to Linden Lab's open-ended virtual world.

I totally agree with him that they became so popular in a very short time period. We hear and read everyday new imlications of virtual worlds.
